PUZZLE POTLUCK 3

Little known fact: Contrary to what you might expect, the classic board game, Life, did not always resemble its modern incarnation. The original version, created by Milton Bradley as The Checkered Game of Life, looked and played quite differently. The board was a modified checkerboard, and scattered across the board were special squares, many of which served as portals to other squares. You started in the bottom left, on the square labeled Infancy, and stepped from one square to the next until you reached Happy Old Age, in the upper right.
In modern times, life is so much more straightforward, compared to the jumpiness of the older generation. Words of the past led you to new places, while the words of wisdom today are nothing but a distraction; what you seek is actually along your path. In either case, you'll find yourself going in the same directions.
