Layton wandered through the gallery, respectfully pausing to ponder each painting for a few seconds. A nearby easel proclaimed that the free exhibit this month was a collection of paintings depicting extra-terrestrial life in comic books. Despite the free admission, he was the only one there.
"Layton."
He turned to see the curator striding towards him. The curator was a gaunt, severe-looking man with a prominent receding hairline and a thin pencil mustache. He stood with his arms crossed and, curiously enough, floated in the air.
Layton tipped his hat. "Good day, sir."
The curator brushed off Layton's niceties and gracefully floated behind Layton. "I would never have guessed you were a fan of comics, Professor."
Layton turned around again. "I strive to appreciate art in all its forms, sir."
"Well said, Professor. Your species is usually quite prone to fear that which you do not understand." He handed Layton a folded-up parchment. "A puzzle for you, Professor. I assume this is what you're here for."
